A rare WW2 commemorative hanging mirror wall display. The center holds a framed oval-shaped mirror with "FOR FREEDOM" above and "1939" below. The top displays a large carved Royal Air Force wings insignia. The bottom displays a panel in the form of a naval destroyer. To the left of the mirror is an infantryman at attention above "THE ARMY" with four carved panels depicting artillery, airship and bomber plane. To the right is a naval seaman at attention above "THE NAVY" with four carved panels depicting a spotlight crew, tanks and fighter plane. The overall condition is remarkably good considering the age and material with some slight wear here and there. The display is ready to hang with a chain mounted to the back. The style and wear to the back confirms that this piece is of the era. A great addition to any military or WW2 collection. Pease see thumbnail pics above to view the workmanship on this piece in more detail.
