A rare antique sterling silver South African presentation fob medal. The obverse states "M.D.F.A. / FIVE A SIDE" and "UMGUNGUNDLOVU". The reverse is engraved "WINNERS / 1919 / JUVENILE" and "STELLA / C.STEPHENSON". Stamped "STERLING SILVER" with maker's mark.
The Maritzburg District Football Association (M.D.F.A.) has deep roots in Pietermaritzburg's football history, dating back to the late 19th century.
