The kukri was the standard issue weapon and utility knife for the Gurkha soldiers who served in the British Army during both World War I and World War II. This specific style, often referred to as a "longleaf" kukri, was made for war and saw service with both the Nepali military and the British Army. This one also reportedly saw action in 1950's Kenya during the Mau Mau Rebellion. In good vintage condition with a thick, heavy quality steel blade. The handle is of horn or wood with a steel cap to the pommel. The leather-covered wood sheath displays some wear in places but remains intact.
