WW2 1940 British Army Issue Bexoid Jack Knife By Sheffield Steel Products.

R 850

This classic British Army Jack Knife, or Clasp Knife, was standard issue from the late 1930's through the early 1950's. It features the typical configuration of the period, with a blade, marlinspike, and can-opener. The grip scales are made of Bexoid, a durable early plastic commonly used at the time.

Of particular note is the copper shackle, a feature that helps date this knife to before 194142, when copper was phased out due to wartime demand and replaced with steel. The blade is clearly stamped with the British Military Broad Arrow, along with S.S.P. (Sheffield Steel Products) and the date 1940. A fine example of a wartime-era British service knife.
