Antique Solid Silver Golf Club Hat Pin By Charles Horner. Chester, 1924.

R 650

A fine 1920's hat pin.  In good, antique condition.  Bears the maker's mark for Charles Horner and hallmarks for Chester, 1924.

Charles Horner was a prominent Halifax manufacturer of small silver goods and jewellery, perhaps best known for his silver hatpins. In the early years of the 20th Century his factory-produced jewellery in silver and enamel brought the style of the Arts and Crafts Movement and the lines of Art Nouveau to the mass market. He was particularly influenced by Liberty's Cymric range of jewellery, and his work shared with them the appearance of being hand-made.
