Vintage German Carl Schlieper Eye Brand D.R.G.M. Folding Knife.
A late 1940's / early 1950's folding knife. The blade is stamped with the Carl Schlieper Eye Brand "eye and sunburst" logo and D.R.G.M. 1423923. The knife shows some age usage wear (please see images). The blade is tight and opens and closes smoothly.
The Carl Schlieper Company was founded in 1754 in Cronenburg Germany. By 1897, the company had established a dedicated cutlery manufacturing subsidiary in Solingen, Germany, under the name Carl Schlieper Stahlwarenfabrik. After World War II, the company adopted the Eye Brand name and logo. The D.R.G.M. stamp was a Germany Empire Utility Design Registered Pattern and was a way for inventors to register a product design in all states within Germany from 1891-1952.
