A Springbok and "SOUTH AFRICA" in raised relief to one side with the heads of King George and Queen Elizabeth with "ROYAL VISIT, 1947" to the other. Stamped "Crown Devon, Made In England" to the base. No chips or cracks.
The 1947 Royal Tour of South Africa was a historic visit by King George VI, Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother), and their daughters, Princess Elizabeth (the future Queen Elizabeth II) and Princess Margaret. It was the first official visit by a reigning British monarch to South Africa and held significant political and symbolic importance.
